No More Excuses for my Fellow Daring Bakers!!!

I'm a very lucky girl! I have a wonderful husband who got me the best birthday present in the world . . . a new camera! And not just any old camera, a Nikon D3000! So now I can actually post pictures, but only after I learn to use it properly. Hopefully I will have figured it out soon enough, but I'm basically going by the idea of practise makes perfect. So I've been trying to find any excuse to use my new toy, but I still have alot to learn with both the camera operation and food styling.

So being the end of October, it's time for the monthly Daring Bakers Challenge -

The 2009 October Daring Bakers’ challenge was brought to us by Ami S. She chose macarons from Claudia Fleming’s The Last Course: The Desserts of Gramercy Tavern as the challenge recipe.

- and I was actually able to attempt it. However it didn't turn out the greatest. I wasn't able to get any 'feet' on my macaroons and they did not crisp up like they were supposed to, they stayed soft and gummy which to me says I didn't bake them nearly enough. I will try and attempt these again when I have some extra time, and I will most definetly be taking a trip over to Tartelette or Cannelle et Vanille blogs to learn from the macaroon masters. So I will be posting some pictures of my macaroon attempt, just as soon as I figure out how to upload the photos (<--- last excuse I swear!!)
