So the past week for me has been filled by work, sleep and jam making. Both strawberries and cherries have become available at the same time and I could not resist going to pick both. So last Monday I ended up with two 7L baskets of the cutest strawberries and one 4L basket of sweet, sweet cherries. And in result of my pick-your-own adventure I now have 16 jars of the prettiest pink strawberry jam I've ever seen, as well as 8 beautiful deep red jewel tone jars filled with cherry jam . . . and I still have more berries to deal with!

Yesterday being Father's Day, I made a wonderful
Upside Down Cherry Cake to send with R. to his Opa's house for their BBQ. I had to work so I wasn't able to hear the reviews first hand, but R. said they all loved it!! And they were kind enough to save me a piece!! My Dad got a couple jars of jam and some fresh homemade bread for his Father's Day treat, and he was happy as a clam when he left with them!! So I now only have a handful of cherries left to deal with, but the strawberries are another story, so strawberry ice cream it is!
